Deliver! Collaborating Across the Organization as a Member of a an Agile Program Team
Workshop Objective: After this interactive and experiential workshop, you will understand what an agile project feels like and know how to participate on one, as part of a program team. You will understand the need for iterative refinement of the requirements, of the interim milestones, and that there is lots of change on an agile project or program, and that these characteristics are good for the program. You will have experienced their need to balance your work with the need of the program.
Workshop Overview: Each program has one program manager, but may have many delegates to the program team. Especially once an organization moves to agile, these delegates may discover that they need to work differently than they expected. They have to watch demos, make more frequent decisions on requirements, make more decisions themselves, and engage more often than they expected.
If you are one of these people, you will find that agile can be freeing and disconcerting. You will have more frequent deliverables, and they will be smaller and easier to deliver. We will practice with tools that will help you see and feel how to be more facile with agile and lean approaches to collaborate across the organization.
This workshop is based on Johanna’s upcoming book, Agile and Lean Program Management: Collaborating Across the Organization. Consider conducting this workshop in concert with Deliver! Collaborating Across the Organization as a Member of a an Agile Program Team for program team participants.
