I got to talk about why happiness is the wrong measure for the work or the people. I said something like this:
“Happiness is a function of many things, not just how I feel about work. I want to optimize for work satisfaction.”
If you or your managers can focus on how to create satisfaction, people might become happy/happier at work—as an outcome.
