Looking for Agile Authors

For those of you who follow All Things Agile, SQE has acquired Agile Journal. And, with that acquisition, comes a few changes. Russell Pannone, our agile buddy, has stepped away as editor-in-chief. Russell is irreplaceable. I’m not replacing him as editor-in-chief, but I am acting as technical editor for the site and I am looking for authors.

If you would like to write for Agile Journal, and maintain the high level of content that Russell and Patrick Egan started, I am interested in talking to you. The editorial calendar for the rest of this year is:

Sept: Agile Release Management (maybe room for one article)
Oct:  Agile Methodologies
Nov: Implementing Agile Across the Organization
Dec: Editor’s Choice (that would be me!)

The first draft for a given issue is roughly a month in advance of that issue. If you’re interested in writing for the Agile Journal, send me an email and let me know what you’d like to write about. I’ll send you the template for submissions.

    Hi Johanna

In the last three-and-a-bit years I have been the programme manager for a huge rollout of Agile change in Nokia (and prior to that, the ill-fated Symbian corporation). My speciality is organising change management happenings at scale. For example I rolled out the Scrum team structure across 100 team in the old Symbian. I then repeated the exercise across around 220 Scrum teams in Nokia. Developing training programmes, building consensus around stakeholders, organising coaching networks, building an enterprise Agile model, and rolling that out across multiple geographies. These are some of the things I’d love to write about. I’d be grateful if you would let me know how I can apply, and I’ll forward a sample of my writing. By the way, I’m transitioning to Accenture on the first of October.

    Best regards
    Simon

    Hi Johanna
I would be interested in writing about change manage and agile or other related topics.
I also write the occasional agile fable and would be interested in creating a monthly case study for readers to suggest solutions fir if those ideas suit the site.

Have a look at my blog (the website above) if you want to check my writing style and quality

In the interests of transparency, I’m responding publicly and will be responding privately. Simon, I’ll want to interview you for my program management book, and, I would love an article (or two or three!) from you about what you’ve learned in your travels.

James, I know you and know your writing! I don’t know if we can commit to a monthly case study, but let’s chat. I’ll send you an email and we can discuss further.

    Hi Johanna,

I’d like to write for the Journal too, I don’t mind what kind of topics you need as it gives me an opportunity to expand my knowledge with some reasearch!

    Cheers,

    Mike
