Twenty years ago today, I wrote my first blog post.
I was nominally on vacation in Lake Tahoe, where my family was skiing. Since I'd stopped skiing by then, I used my vacations to write and read. And Esther Derby and I were writing some version of Behind Closed Doors: Secrets of Great Management. We had an appointment to talk.
Esther said, “There's a new way to engage readers. It's called blogging. Let's do it.”
Never one to back down from writing, I said, “Okay!”
Now, 20 years later, I've used this blog to both explain my well-formed ideas and to explore new ones. Yes, I've used this blog as part of my product development. I have much more to write because I'm explaining and exploring more each day. I get to write more. (Insert laughter here.)
I thank Esther for suggesting the blog. And I thank you, my readers, for reading and commenting. I've enjoyed these last 20 years, and I bet I enjoy the next 20.
Congratulations on 20!
Thanks!
High Five on the 20! Looking forward to the next two decades of your well-formed and even not so coherent thoughts.
Thanks! Yeah, I write to learn what I think, so sometimes, I’m not so coherent!
May you enjoy many more years of sharing your thoughts with us lucky readers.
Thank you!
