I had a wonderful time discussing management myths, fake agility, and how to get to done with Kumar Dattatreyan.
He runs the Agile Meridian podcast. You can also find the video here: https://www.youtube.com/live/_L4TnfDeQAs?si=SZs1oLuL6faYG7Bg
Kumar was a terrific host—we had a delightful conversation. We discussed several of my books:
- The Modern Management Made Easy books (the source of all the management myths)
- Project Lifecycles: How to Reduce Risks, Release Successful Products, and Increase Agility. This is the book that explains that agility is a culture problem. And that the focus on resource efficiency will kill any attempt at an “agile transformation.”
- Free Your Inner Nonfiction Writer: Educate, Influence, and Entertain Your Readers. Writing nonfiction feels exactly like writing code to me. (Fiction feels very different to me.) We discussed how I get it “all” done. (No. I do not get it all done. Not possible. I get the most important things done that day.)
I am just beginning to realize that everything I do is about managing product development. Yes, I know that's the name of my blog. However, I did not realize that “managing product development” applies to everything I do! (Insert maniacal laughter here. You probably realized it before now.)
Hope you enjoy listening or watching.
