Back in January 2020, I led a Hudson Bay Start to create/build a consulting practice. I'm happy to say it was a success. Not because everyone became a consultant. However, the people who chose to consult found their ways to succeed. And, even more importantly, some people decided not to consult yet. Those folks continue to prepare for their eventual consulting careers.
I'm now opening the next cohort, starting in March 2021. See the workshop: Successful Independent Consulting Workshop.
We will work together formally for three months. You'll have weekly homework and then we'll debrief once a week. (I already know I have some client work I can't change, so we won't meet then.)
You will have ongoing access to the Slack community.
I will finish the consulting book: Advise, Influence, and Serve Clients for Mutual Profit. Yes, I plan to complete the book during the workshop, if not before.
We might change the content to offer the cohort participants more value. However, I don't expect the outcomes to change. You will create a business that works for you.
Please note the criteria. You are willing to:
- Start/restart an email list.
- Manage or create your website where you own your own domain.
- Be independent, not be a subcontractor, or use a headhunter to get business. (You might start that way. You don't want to stay that way.)
